I’ve seen (and at times participated in) too much debate over the years about the “right” way to do church. Looking back, I was probably wrong as much as I was right.

There is no one right way to do church. You don’t “do” church anyway. I can’t “do” church anymore than Jen and I and our kids can “do” the Fish family.

There are healthy things we can do together to help us be a stronger family.

Love each other.

Connect with God

Work out conflicts.

Serve others.

Enjoy life together.

When you have a family, it’s constantly growing, changing, shifting, learning. Families are designed by God to grow and multiply – while passing on godly values to the next generation. Church is God’s family and can be the same way.

Simple models for church planting are not the “right” way to do church. They are a means of empowering people to plant the gospel among those who are culturally far from Christianity.

Love each other.

Connect with God

Work out conflicts.

Serve others.

Enjoy life together.

What a blessing to be part of God’s family.

Let’s keep looking for opportunities for others to experience it, too.

Erik
